Video Production

I fell in love with videography almost immediately after picking up a camera. As a shy teenager involved with a broadcast show Wolfbyte TV, I learned the necessary skills. Those skills were then used and perfected by creating a story monthly from concept to final product. This led me to a deep passion for my community’s personal stories, connecting closely with strangers, and having the honor of using videography to tell and share their life missions, hardships, passions and more.

I continued on in Wolfbyte TV to become our Show Producer. I was responsible for the final outcome of each month’s show. Picking and choosing which stories were to be included, writing a script that could connect and highlight each individual story. This role gave me experience not only with the technical aspects of compiling, writing, filming, editing, and even live broadcastings shows but taught me to be a leader. I learned objectivity when it came to stepping back and switching to the perspective of your audience. I learned how to navigate managing peers, motivating them to achieve the highest level of success with every project. Most of all, I learned how to take a skill and merge it with my individual passions and motivators, while trying to mirror that same effect for my peers.

Continuing forward in my educational career I began “studying” filmmaking at CAPS, also known as Center for Advanced Professional Studies. I include quotations as this was no regular classroom. This school was based around the whole concept of learning in the field, not by using books or tests or lectures. My interpersonal skills helped gather opportunities for me to work with real clients in the community. My objectivity helped me successfully align each video to serve solely under the focus of my clients’ audiences. I worked with real clients to create in-house employee training videos, advertising and promotional content, and lastly a documentary explaining and selling the CAPS program to widen their network.

Once I had tested my passion and skills for filmmaking, I decided to pursue higher education with film in mind. Getting my bachelors degree at The University of Alabama in “Creative Media” allowed coursework to continue in this path. I not only strengthened my skillset, but worked alongside peers to create a variety of different productions. My journey with videography has allowed me to use these skills in the workplace to create captivating social media and web content to advertise for the brand.
